Haiti - Education: The President Martelly to Arcahaie and Saint-Marc

The President Michel Martelly, has visited, this Tuesday, October 4, the cities of Arcahaie and Saint-Marc in order to realize the progress of the process of free education that he has initiated throughout the country.

To Lully, in the commune of Arcahaie, the Head of State participated in the inauguration of the Community School of Lully, built by the Digicel Foundation. On site, the President Martelly met with the American singer and actress Miley Cyrus, also known as the name of Hannah Montana who is engaged in philanthropic efforts in Haiti and who shares the ideals of this program of the President.

In the afternoon, the President of the Republic has proceeded to the distribution of school kits to several students of a dozen of schools, gathered at the High School of Pivert, in the commune of Saint Marc. The Head of State, speaking to schoolchildren, reminded them the importance of education and promised them to quickly integrate the school feeding program in the school institutions of the region. "A hungry stomach has no ears", added the Head of State.

The Head of State took advantage of his visit in Artibonite, has emphasized of the importance of the training of teachers and the establishment of a national program of universal education, applicable to all schools throughout the national territory. The President of the Republic has the duty to observe, closely and with relevant institutions, the implementation of various programs that allow 772,000 school children to take the road of the school for free this year. This Wednesday, October 5, the President Martelly will be in the Central Plateau.
