The Ministry of National Education informs students in official exam classes of the 9th Fundamental Year (A.F.) and Secondary 4, that compensation and acceleration courses will be launched from Tuesday, May 2nd 2023 in several public schools.

It should also be noted that Educational Radio, through the 102.1 FM frequency, will also be used to broadcast online courses. These courses will also be broadcast on other radio and television stations across the country, in addition to the courses of compensation and acceleration of face-to-face learning.

In addition, more than 700 teachers and trainees will be mobilized to support students in high schools and basic national schools, candidates for state exams. This is a support envisaged by the Ministry in accordance with its commitments, with a view to filling the gaps accumulated by the pupils, in particular due to school disruptions in difficult areas and thus contributing to their academic success.

In addition, he stressed that teachers have rights and that students, demanding teachers in the classroom, also have rights that the State has an obligation to enforce. Regarding the demands, he specified that the Ministry primarily addresses demands that can be resolved in the short term evoking a request for a 400% salary increase from certain unions [at least 500% for Action Syndicale of Teachers of Haiti (ASEHA)] .

The Minister insists "[...] Less than ten weeks from the closing of classes and the organization of state exams, it is important to provide the necessary support expected by these students who are demanding regular classes, and the support needed to pass their final exams."
