Haiti - insecurity : Gangs have forced the displacement of at least 160,000 Haitians

The deterioration of security conditions in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince has caused numerous population displacements in recent months and caused incidents in some accommodation sites.

The number of displaced persons currently stands at 155,166 people, of whom 30,492 are currently settled in accommodation sites.

Same scenario in the departments of Artibonite and Center where violence has forced thousands of families to abandon their homes.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) with its government partners is continuing to provide relocation assistance to the most vulnerable displaced families (pregnant women, children and infants, etc...) through a cash transfer program for one year's rent.

At the same time, IOM continues to respond to the urgent needs of the displaced by distributing basic necessities and medical care. Humanitarian assistance activities supported by USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (USA) and EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid United Nations CERF (Europa).
