Haiti - Insecurity : Towards the reinforcement of the security of the perimeter of schools

On Thursday March 9, 2023, an important meeting was held around the security crisis affecting schools and the measures to be adopted to deal with it. Co-chaired by Ministers Emmelie PROPHÈTE MILCÉ (Justice) and Nesmy MANIGAT (Education), with police authorities, principals of public, private and religious schools and teachers’ unions

At this meeting, the Minister of Justice gave instructions to the police authorities, so that they make rapid arrangements for the deployment of specialized units in the perimeters of the Schools and Learning Centers which had to close. their doors because of the violence of armed gangs, with a view to restoring a climate of security conducive to the resumption of classes.

The Ministry of Justice ensures that all possible means will be made available to the Police to deal with this unprecedented and blind violence which affects all sectors and calls on citizens to a duty of resistance.
