Haiti - Port-de-Paix : Denial of the 2023 Carnival Organizing Committee

Haiti - Port-de-Paix : Denial of the 2023 Carnival Organizing Committee

"The Port-de-Paix Carnival 2023 Organizing Committee formally denies the allegations of certain media, which take pleasure in distorting, defaming and/or disseminating misleading information about members of the 2023 Carnival Committee.

At no time the carnival committee of Port-de-Paix received any amount from the Ministry of Culture that could enable them to carry out the carnival. Everything that has been achieved was thanks to the good will of the community of Port-de-Paix and the institutions that have agreed to grant us financial credit.

It would be good if the detractors bring evidence proving that the municipality of Port-de-Paix and the Carnival Committee have received a check and/or quite a considerable amount from some institution. It is time for the light to be shed on this case and for the detractors to answer for their actions

In addition, the Carnival Committee of the Municipality of Port-de-Paix salutes the exemplary behavior of the revelers and the press who have expressed their interest in participating in the Carnival activities of February 19 or 21, 2023, despite the difficult times. that the commune is currently going through.

We would also like to thank Mayor Josué Alusma who had faith in our team, the managers of the 'Je M'engage' structure, the DJs, the masked bands, the dancers of the club atmosphere, the walking bands and the artists, the institution Bikini Sound, the Restaurant Cascade, 'Kwendal Street food' for having lent us a hand in order to carry out this great popular event."
