Yesterday, when the the organization of human rights, Amnesty International, would present its report "We can not kill the truth - The case against Jean-Claude Duvalier," in a hotel in the capital, Port-au-Prince, relatives and a lawyer of the former President for life Jean-Claude Duvalier entered in the conference room and disrupted the presentation.

"We see this as an attack on press freedom, it is unfortunate that the Haitians have not had the opportunity to ask questions about the report," declared Javier Zúñiga, Special Advisor at Amnesty International.

As for me Reynold George, one of Duvalier's lawyer present in the room "These people need to cause a breakdown in society, they want to divide the Haitians, because no law in Haiti allow to judge Duvalier", Me Georges also wonders "Why no court had prosecuted Duvalier during his exile in France ?"

For its part Amnesty International urges the Haitian authorities to bring former President Jean-Claude "Baby Doc" Duvalier to justice "There's sufficient evidence to prosecute Jean-Claude Duvalier for the widespread arbitrary detentions, torture, deaths in custody, killings and disappearances that took place during his regime, some of which amount to crimes against humanity," declared Zúñigan, adding that "What is needed is political will from Haiti's new administration to comply with their international obligations and to accomplish his duty towards all the victims of these human rights violations."
