Haiti - Japan : Emergency aid of 3 million dollars to fight against Cholera
The Japanese Government granted on January 6, 2023, urgent financial assistance of 3 million US dollars to respond to the resurgence of cholera in Haiti https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-38549-haiti-cholera-daily-bulletin-86.html through the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the World Food Program (WFP) and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
This financial assistance will enable these UN organizations to intervene in Haiti in the areas of health, water and sanitation and food aid.
Let's recall that after three years without a single case of cholera reported, the resurgence of cholera in October 2022 in Haiti threatens the well-being and health of several thousand Haitian children warned Unicef.
