Monday in the binational market of Dajabón, in trucks, three-wheelers, wheelbarrows or on foot, the flow of Haitian buyers and sellers was important to stock up on various products at the border market.

In Pedernales everything also worked well on the market like last Friday, but with an important military device to ensure security and the smooth running of the market.

In Carrizal, although the border gate on the Dominican side was open from 8:00 a.m., letting Haitians enter for the binational market, Haitian demonstrators blocked the gate in Haiti to protest against the mass deportations of their compatriots and prevented Dominican merchants of agricultural products to enter Haitian territory make their usual sales...

Later, military members of the Specialized Body for Land Border Security (CESFRONT) had to close the gate on the Dominican side for greater security, due to Haitian protesters throwing stones and bottles towards the Dominican gate.

Several Haitian nationals quickly crossed the small side door of the portal which was open to them to return to their territory.
