Haiti - Dajabón : The border with Haiti closed for a sixth day 26/11/2022 09:47:44

Santiago Riverón, the mayor of Dajabón, confirmed the closure of the market and accused sectors of Haiti of having created a crisis to prevent the normalization of activities. Riveron said protest groups are funded by members of Haiti's private sector to maintain tension and prevent favorable conditions for the normalization of business activities. The mayor mentioned a former Haitian senator (without citing a name) who would support the protesters, while specifying that there are many Haitians, merchants and consumers who want the border to be open and the binational market to work again.
