A ransomer killed in Carrefour

An armed individual who ransomed people at Carrefour Sacré-Coeur, was fatally injured in exchanges of fire with the Police, this Sunday, November 13, 2022, at Turgeau, Avenue N. This individual who accompanied several accomplices, was killed by a patrol of the Motorized Intervention Brigade Corps (CBIM) when these individuals opened fire on the patrol who immediately returned fire.

Increase in xenophobia in the DR

William Charpentier, the Coordinator of the National Office for Migration and Refugees (Menamird), an organization of the Dominican Civil Society, says that the Menamird is "[...] concerned by the fact that in recent months in the Dominican Republic, xenophobia, racial discrimination and hate speech have increased. We ask the Dominican Government to develop guidelines so that situations and speeches of this nature do not happen again and xenophobia does not become a norm."
