Haiti - Politic : The Fusion Party condemns the remarks of Moïse Jean-Charles which threaten the security of the State

In a statement, Edmonde Supplice Beauzile, President of the Fusion Party "[...] strongly condemns the aggressive and irresponsible statements of Moïse Jean-Charles, representative of the political platform 'Pitit Desalin', inviting individuals to attempt the lives of Haitian Government officials and their families in their respective residences" https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-37912-icihaiti-demonstrationmoise-jean-charles-asks-the-demonstrators-to-arm-themselves-with-machetes-to-lead-the-revolution.html

"[..] These statements (by Moïse) made during a press conference on October 17, 2022 and then broadcast on several radio stations in the Capital clearly threaten the internal security of the State at its highest level.

The perpetration of such acts against authorities in the exercise of their functions is clearly qualified as a crime according to article 170 of the penal code and the author of these declarations must be punished according to the rigors of the law.

Prompt steps should have already been taken by the Government Commissioner to put public action in motion to crack down on any offender who threatens the security of the state verbally or by actions.

[...]

The Fusion asks the competent authorities to take all measures to reprimand these acts with the utmost rigor. [...]"
