Haiti - Cuba : 10 new graduate Haitian doctors and a historic distinction

Saturday August 13, 2022, in the morning 11 Haitian academics, during a graduation ceremony, received their degree in medical sciences from the University of Santiago de Cuba.

As part of the ceremony, two of the graduates received awards :

Dr. Peterson Alcius received the distinction of outstanding graduate for his dedication;

Medical bioanalyst Mureille Desrosiers received a gold distinction for her extraordinary work, for her marks and her behavior and a Prize for the scientific research she carried out, the first time in the history of Cuba that a foreigner wins this distinction.

Once again, the cooperation between Haiti and Cuba will allow these 10 new doctors and a medical bioanalyst to strengthen the health sector in Haiti.

The Ambassador of Haiti to Cuba, Mrs. Régine Lamur, made the trip to attend this graduation ceremony and congratulate the recipients who, according to the Minister "are the pride of Haiti and their families."

In the evening, Ambassador Lamur presented plaques of honor to these new health professionals and took the opportunity to advise them to continue to train, affirming "a trained youth is the guarantee of a better tomorrow for Haiti."
