Haiti - Mexico : The authorities refuse the entry to 124 Haitian passengers of a private charter flight
Saturday, July 30 at 7:00 p.m., a private charter plane MD 80 from Haiti carrying 142 passengers: 124 Haitians, 8 French, 5 Chileans, 4 Brazilians and 1 Austrian from Haiti landed at the international airport of the island of Cozumel (Mexico).

At the time of the checks, agents from the National Institute for Migration (INM) found that the documents presented were not authentic and refused entry into the country to the passengers of the plane after having discovered, among other things, false passports...

The Migration Service informed the crew that the passengers were being denied entry to Mexico and that the flight should return to Haiti. The two crewmen refused, explaining that their plane did not have enough fuel to make the return trip...

The airport authorities then provided fuel to the plane which left with its passengers for Haiti around 2 a.m. on Sunday, July 31.

Note that this incident has been treated with the utmost discretion and it is only now that this massive attempt to enter Mexico by illegal passengers on a charter flight from Haiti has been made public.
