Haiti - Insecurity : An agent UDMO killed to the BRH
Yesterday, in middle of day, Yacinthe Hudson, an agent of the Departmental Unit for the Maintenance of Order (UDMO) assigned to the airport police station, was killed following an altercation with a security guard. Agent Hudson would have gone to the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) to complete a transaction, an altercation took place and he would have received several large caliber projectiles.
Michel-Ange Gédéon, Head of the Departmental Direction of the West (DDO) gives further explanation and informs gives further explanation and informs that an investigation is open "This is a police officer who had come to do a transaction and following an altercation according to the initial information they are given us, this man was killed inside the bank. We will not anticipate on the investigation but it is sure that there are people who have been witness of the incident, as the cashier [3 cashiers in total] who was in front, we'll have to go to the police station with them to take their testimony, same thing do the security guards who were on duty in this space. We will also conduct a study of ballistic of weapons of these security guards to see who fired. [...] he was hit by several shots we will analyze the body [...] It would seem that there would be a security guard who was wounded in the leg, we will also hear his version [...]"
Shortly after the direction of the BRH issued a note signed by Philip W. Lahens, Deputy Governor of the BRH "The Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) inform the public that in the day of 2 September 2011, an incident occurred at its counters in the Rue Pavee. As part of this incident, a gunman was killed. The judiciary called to the scene made the legal finding and the police were seized of the matter.
The BRH deplores this incident and had been assured of the police authorities that provisions will be taken to avoid the repetition of such acts for the normal functioning of the institution and the security of the area.
