Wednesday, June 8 in the morning, on the national #2, near Acul de Léogâne, Cardinal Chibly Langlois (63 years old) was the victim of a terrible accident, his vehicle was almost destroyed, but the Cardinal and his driver miraculously got out alive

According to the information available, Cardinal Langlois will suffer from multiple fractures. The Permanent Secretariat of the Episcopal Conference of Haiti (CEH), reassured in a note "[...] He has fractured limbs, but his life as well as that of the driver, who accompanied him, are not in danger."

The CEH invites priests and lay faithful to pray for his healing and his speedy recovery.

Cardinal Chibly Langlois is currently in the Ste Croix de Léogâne hospital according to the Bishop of Nippes Pierre André Mgr Pierre André Dumas.

Acting Prime Minister Ariel Henry reacted on his Twitter account, "I wish a speedy recovery to Cardinal Chibly Langlois, victim, this Wednesday, of a terrible accident on the National #2. At this painful moment, I ask him to accept the expression of our complete solidarity and our deepest sympathy."

The circumstances of this accident are not yet known.
