Guadeloupe consulate closed

The Consulate of the Republic of Haiti in Guadeloupe informs the Haitian community that as part of the celebration of Ascension Day (Thursday, May 26) and the Commemoration of the Abolition of Slavery (Friday, May 27), its doors will be closed. Services will resume as usual on Monday, May 30, 2022.

Taiwan : Production and Marketing of Rice

The Project "Production and Marketing of Rice of the Association of Planters" developed by the Technical Mission of Taiwan in Haiti in collaboration with the international NGO "Food for the Poor", not only aims to support the Association of Farmers producing and marketing rice, but also to provide traceable production, in order to set up reliable information on rice production located in Plaine des Cayes, in Warf Massey. The Taiwan Technical Mission also acquires meteorological information at the level of the Plaine des Cayes in order to assess any climate change.

Education : Distribution of school furniture and materials

UNICEF and the Ministry of National Education are handing over 50 tables and benches to the national school of Gebeau, Grand'Anse. 131 girls and 220 boys received bags, slates, feathers, shoes, etc.. 2 tents will be erected to replace 2 dilapidated classrooms.

Bahamas : US Assistant Secretary Nichols meets with Haitians

US Assistant Secretary for Western Hemisphere Affairs Brian Nichols visiting the Bahamas said, "I am honored to meet Haitian [legal] migrants at a learning center in Nassau, Bahamas and hear their heartbreaking stories. Migrants deserve our compassion and we are working with our Bahamian and regional partners to address the root causes."
