Haiti - FLASH : The bus company «Dieu qui décide» suspends its operations due to insecurity

Faced with the resurgence of insecurity in Martissant (southern entrance to Port-au-Prince), hijacking and ransoming of public transport vehicles, officials of the bus company "Dieu qui décide", one of the most of the country, which notably provides the Port-au-Prince/Jérémie route, announces on its Facebook page the temporary suspension of its activities "The management of the bus 'Dieu qui décide' salutes you and appreciates you for the confidence placed in it . As a result, she takes the opportunity to announce that Sunday May 15 will be the last day of travel because of the insecurity."

As recently as Friday, May 13, a company bus and its passengers escaped an attempted hijacking by a group of armed individuals. Already in October 2021, the company stopped its operations due to insecurity in Martissant. Despite this situation, the management had decided to resume its service in the southern region.

Remember that on several occasions, the gangs have hijacked buses from the company "Dieu qui décide" and have demanded a large sum of money from the owner...

Let's recall that the bandits operating at the southern entrance to the capital had hijacked, between May 9 and 10, five (5) vehicles including three minibuses providing the Port-au-Prince/Jacmel route and two buses, according to the coordinator of Association of Owners and Drivers of Haiti (APCH), Changeux Méhu.
