Haiti - Insecurity : Ten fuel trucks hijacked by armed gangs

The National Association of Petroleum Product Distributors (ANADIPP) informed yesterday Wednesday of the hijacking by armed groups of 10 fuel trucks at the exit of the Varreux terminal (municipality of Cité Soleil, north of Port-au-Prince).

"After having operated on Sunday May 1, on Monday May 2 the Varreux terminal remained closed. Between Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4, 10 trucks were diverted at the Varreux terminal exit. The capital and North stations were not still not supplied normally."

This situation causes the extension of the scarcity of fuel in several areas of the department of the West, Artibonite, North, among others.

For their part, many motorists and motorcyclists continue to queue at service stations, which are out of stock...

In some provincial towns the user must take 700 gourdes out of his pocket to obtain a precious gallon of gasoline.
