Fire : Disaster avoided in Les Cayes

On Saturday April 23, 2022, firefighters from Antoine Simon Airport in Les Cayes intervened to contain a fire that broke out at the Pont Salomon in Les Cayes around 4:30 p.m. The fire broke out at the time of the delivery of propane gas at a gas station. The disaster was avoided, two houses were nevertheless burned but no loss of human life was to be deplored.

Airplanes out of fuel

In a circular intended for airlines and ground service providers, the Toussaint Louverture International Airport Operations Department informed them that JET A-1 kerosene-type fuel, suitable for most jet-powered aircraft, is not available. Consequence Sunrise Airways among others victim of this shortage warned "Due to fuel shortages at Port-au-Prince International Airport, some of our domestic flights to Jérémie, Les Cayes and Cap-Haitien may be delayed or canceled. Please accept our apologies for this situation beyond our control."

Memorandum of understanding between the UEH and the FNE

This Tuesday will be held the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between the National Education Fund (FNE) and the State University of Haiti (UEH), this memorandum aims to define the framework of a partnership between the two institutions for the financing and implementation of projects related to the UEH Development Plan and the support of students and staff members with a view to their socio-economic development and the creation of a better teaching environment -learning.
