On Wednesday March 23, 2022, at 3:40 and 41 seconds in the afternoon, an earthquake of magnitude 5.1 on the Richter scale occurred in Haiti, the epicenter was located at 18.814° North latitude and 74.108° west longitude, i.e. 20 km at sea north of the town of Jérémie (Grand'Anse Dept.), 88 km north-west of Anse-à-Veau (Nippes), 102 km west of Gonâve Island (West Dept.), at a depth of 10km.

The earthquake sowed a slight wave of panic among students still in class in the department of Grand'Anse.

For the moment, no loss of human life has been reported by the authorities and the Civil Protection in relation to this new seismic activity.

However, we have been informed of a few minor injuries caused by the panic movements.
