On Saturday February 19, 2022, investigators from the Departmental Judicial Police Service (SDPJ) arrested Dr. Altema Smith (38) from Les Cayes (South Dept.) on Duvivier Hall Street.

This health professional was arrested following the arrest warrant issued by Me Ronald Richemond, Government Commissioner at the Court of First Instance of Les Cayes.

Dr. Altema Smith is suspected of involvement in acts of criminal association, murder, abortion and embezzlement of a minor on the person of Romélus Adriana Jeudy. The minor is deceased and is represented in this case by her mother, Mrs. Marie Micheline Nono.

Altema Smith is currently in custody pending further legal proceedings.
