Haiti - FLASH : A land conflict in Arcahaie leaves at least 7 dead and 10 injured

Monday, in the context of a land conflict in the locality of Fond-Baptiste (7th communal section of Arcahaie), which has lasted for more than 10 years, two groups of heirs from the localities of Nicolas and Dimarand clashed once again, explains Innocent Jean Monax Administrative Councilor of the Communal Section (CASEC) of the area.

Monday's toll is heavy, at least 7 people were killed and more than a dozen others wounded by bullets or stabbing

According to former Arcahaie deputy candidate Wilner René, most of the injured are seriously injured and several are residents with nothing to do with the land conflict.

He deplores the lack of security for citizens, recalling that there are only around 40 police officers to ensure the security of more than 140,000 residents.

A precarious calm seems to have returned, but the situation remains tense in the absence of police and judicial intervention.
