Haiti - North : Towards the revitalization of tourism
Luz Kurta Cassandra François the Minister of Tourism, Madam, carried out a mission in the North on December 30 and 31, 2021, accompanied by her Chief of Staff, Ms. Savela Jacques Berenji and Ms. Marie Lourdes Trott, Departmental Director of Tourism North.

This mission began in Milot, in order to assess the actions necessary for the reopening of the Milot and Choiseul reception kiosks, located in the National Historic Park, which have been non-functional for almost two years. Minister François took the opportunity to meet with Luc Télus, one of the representatives of the Provisional Management Authority of the National Historic Park, on the management of this Park, the mechanisms to be put in place to make the visits to the Park operational.

In the steps taken by the Minister so that the North can once again become a tourist destination of choice, she also met with the municipal authorities on the progress of the project to set up a waste treatment center including the city of Cap-Haitien will benefit soon.

Still with the same objective, she ended her mission by visiting the cruise port, Labadie where the management team is actively working for the resumption, from next month of the docking of cruise ships, which were interrupted due to of the health crisis linked to the Covid-19 pandemic

The Minister recalled that Haiti, its history and its culture has even more to offer and urged the population of the North and the country in general to join it in this fight to put Haiti back on the world tourist map, which according to Ms. Françaois will influence to "Sure positively our economy with the attraction of new investments and will allow the creation of jobs."
