Haiti - NOTICE : The 16th Edition of PAP JAZZ postponed due to insecurity

After having evaluated all the possibilities to maintain the International Jazz Festival of Port-au-Prince (PAPJAZZ 2022) on its usual date in mid-January, the Haiti Jazz Foundation, unanimously supported by its organizing committee, took the painful decision to postpone its 16th edition to a later date during the year 2022, given the security situation in the capital two months before the opening of the international event.

"We considered a large number of possibilities, but none were satisfactory, to guarantee the safety of all our audiences (on the 8 stages of the Festival), local and foreign musicians, or even the 45 technicians and volunteers working for 10 days at the various sites," explains Milena Sandler, Executive Director of the Foundation.

All the partners and sponsors loyal to PAPJAZZ, have assured the organizers of their support.

"What we really want is to be able to offer our local and global audiences, through live broadcasting, the same programming as that which was planned for January 2022," specifies Joel Widmaier, Artistic Director of the Festival and President of the Foundation, adding "We have notified all artists and artist agents and submitted a new date to them; now, it remains to be hoped that they will be available again and that the 16th edition can take place in a peaceful environment. We sincerely hope that our public will support us in this decision."
