Haiti - Chile : The President Martelly received Friday at the Palace, Alfredo Moreno

The President Michel Martelly received this Friday at the National Palace, Mr. Alfredo Moreno, the Chilean Minister of Foreign Affairs.

In a joint press briefing, the two statesmen have reminded the different concerns of both countries, particularly in term of family health, education and national security. The President Mrtelly who accepted the invitation on a visit to Santiago of Chile, wished the collaboration of Chile in the formation of a national security force in Haiti. The Chilean Minister, reiterated the commitment of Chile in the process of reconstruction of Haiti and promised to extend the cooperation to other areas.

"...we met at the National Palace to discuss cooperation, ongoing projects such as health projects that already exists in the area of Aquin [...] we also talked about the different scholarships that Chile offers to the Haitian youth, many of them go to Chile to study agronomy, is a very important sector for us. I asked the Chilean Ambassador in Haiti, this list, in order that i be able to use these students [...] to put them to the service of the country [...] I talked about security, of the assistance that they bring to the National Police, we took the opportunity also to talk about the defense force that we will set up, to see how Chile can provide support to Haiti in this area [...]

We also addressed the issue of the Prime Minister that we have not yet [...] I take this opportunity to say to the world that I continue to do my duty [...] I have designated twice a Prime Minister without wasting time and every time they [the parliamentarians] have not ratified it [...] We do not waste time, we continue to work, because our goal is to establish a government, that can make land the policy of the President..." declared the Head of State.

In the morning, the President of the Republic, also received the credentials of two new Ambassadors accredited to Port-au-Prince. The new Ambassador of the Republic of Argentina in Port-au-Prince, Mr. Marcelo Raúl Sebaste and the Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation in Haiti, Ms. Edita Vokral.
