Haiti - FLASH : The safe of the general registry of the TPI of Port-au-Prince has disappeared

According to Martin Ainé, the President of the National Association of Haitian Registrars, the safe at the general registry of the Court of First Instance (TPI) of Port-au-Prince was taken, during the burglary of the office of Judge Garry Orélien, responsible for the dossier of the late President Jovenel Moïse https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-35111-haiti-flash-the-office-of-investigating-judge-garry-orelien-burgled.html . Information confirmed by the Government Commissioner Me Jacques Lafontant.

While wondering about the means necessary to move and take away this imposing very heavy safe, Martin Ainé specifies that it contained many legal files including that of the assassination of Bâtonnier Monferrier Dorval stressing "It will be difficult to make an inventory of the number of lost files, since the register of these files was also in the safe [...] It will take time for the courts to identify all the missing files," deploring the frequency of files being stolen from the Palais de Justice.

Currently the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police is trying to reconstruct the case of Bâtonnier Monferrier Dorval

In addition, the Unit for the Fight against Corruption (ULCC) vehemently condemns the burglary of the Registry of the TPI in Port-au-Prince, which also contained all the registers of asset declarations made by officials subject to this obligation. "This unfortunate event occurred in a context where the Institution is strengthening its advocacy and increasing its efforts to prohibit the participation in electoral competitions of the officials and political figures concerned who have not complied with this formality within the time limit set by the law," stressed Hans Jacques Ludwing Jospeh Director General of the ULCC.
