Haiti - Elections : The Prime Minister in an impasse, lack of candidates for the CEP

Following the dismissal of the members of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34852-haiti-flash-the-government-revokes-the-cep.html Prime Minister ai Ariel Henry had invited 9 sectors including the diapsora, to submit 3 names (including at least one woman), in accordance with the "Political Agreement for Peaceful and Effective Governance of the Interim Period" (Article 14) https://www.haitilibre.com/docs/Accord-Politique-pour-une-Gouvernance-Apaisee-et-Efficace-de-la-Periode-Interimaire.pdf , among which it will choose for each sector concerned, a representative who will sit on the CEP. The expiry date was set for October 13, 2021.

The sectors Haitian Episcopal Conference (CEH) and the Episcopal Church, the National Association of Haitian Media (ANMH), the human rights sector, the Conference of Rectors and Presidents of Haitian Universities and Higher Education Institutions (CORPUHA) have indicated their refusal for the moment to designate 3 people, they believe that in addition to the climate of insecurity, the lack of real national consensus, and the persistent political divisions do not allow future CEP members to work in full tranquility.

The position of the reformed cults is expected at the end of the week, but leaves little doubt about an early refusal having been victims of several kidnappings...

The other sectors : the Association of Independent Media of Haiti (AMIH), women's organizations, the voodoo sector, peasant organizations and the diaspora have not yet spoken publicly on whether or not to send the list of 3 names, but all have let the deadline of October 13 set by the Prime Minister pass.
