Haiti - Security : Police operations more and more deadly for the bandits

The Central Directorate of Administrative Police (DCPA) has observed for a few weeks a high level of professionalism in the execution of operations against the armed gangs of Croix-des-Bouquets and Tabarre, which have not until here caused collateral damage during the targeted operations carried out by the special units of the National Police of Haiti (PNH)

Indeed, 7 bandits were killed and several dozen wounded, were identified by various intelligence sources in the bandits camp. This is testament to the efficiency and accuracy of police fire at moving targets.

In addition, the DCPA deplores the fact that many young people engage in crime, deceived by "manipulators with a criminal vocation who call themselves Hougans and who make these young people believe that they are invulnerable and protected by 'Loas' (voodoo spirits) against police bullets, once integrated into gangs" ...

In addition and given the large number of victims in the ranks of bandits, the Central Directorate instructed the Departmental Director of West 2 to carry out counter-intelligence on this file and to contact, if necessary, all the local authorities (of the respective jurisdictions) with a view to clearing a humanitarian corridor, under strict control of the PNH, so that gunshot wounded have access to emergency care and be held accountable for their acts by-law.

Support to the town halls of Croix-des-Bouquets and Tabarre was requested in order to list the various mass graves where bodies would be buried, in order to avoid a health catastrophe linked to probable epidemics caused by mistreatment of corpses.
