Denial of the PNH

The National Police of Haiti (PNH) denies the rumors circulating according to which several police officers were injured during the police operation which took place in the city center of Croix-des-Bouquets on Saturday, September 18, for expel bandits who have continued to terrorize the population. However, a policeman was shot and wounded. Arrangements were made to take him to hospital. His health is stable for the moment.

The owner of the SuperMaket Star 2000 shot down

Sunday morning around 8:00 am at Delmas 40B, the owner of the SuperMaket Star 2000 was shot and killed while driving his vehicle by armed individuals on board a Land Cruiser without a license plate.

A bus falls in Lake Azuei, at least 15 victims

Sunday, in Fonds-Parisien on the RN3 road which leads to the border between Haiti and the Dominican Republic, a bus carrying at least 15 passengers following a traffic accident fell in Lake Azuei. The rescuers managed to rescue 6 people including the driver. At least 9 other passengers are missing.

Île à Vache : Seizure of 13 kg of marijuana

Sunday, September 19, 2021, as part of operation "mache pran yo", a joint team made up of agents from the Office for the Fight against Narcotics Trafficking (BLTS) and the South Coast Guard led an operation in Île à Vache where 13kg of marijuana was seized. Julanor Petit (50 years old), born in Cavaillon, was arrested. An investigation is opened to identify the accomplices.

Threats of destruction of collective memory

Faced with threats of destruction of the collective memory of the Haitian people following the earthquake of August 14, 2021, the Ministry of Culture via the Institute for the Protection of National Heritage (ISPAN) reacted quickly in consultation with the national bodies concerned, in order to to suspend all companies destroying heritage buildings affected by the recent earthquake.
