Haiti - Cap-Haitien : Unpaid rental tax, the town hall raises the tone and takes action

Wednesday August 4, 2021, as announced last May https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-33858-icihaiti-cap-haitien-final-date-for-the-payment-of-the-cfpb-before-the-forced-recovery.html accompanied by justice, the police and the lawyer of the Town Hall, the municipal administration of Cap-Haitien, began to seal or seize the property of citizens who have not paid the Land Contribution of Built Properties (CFPB) for 5 to 10 years (better known as rental tax).

After a great deal of patience, negotiations and discussions with its citizens, the Town Hall remains bound to take all measures aimed at forcing taxpayers to pay the CFPB. The town hall specifies that out of every 100 houses in the town barely 10% have paid their taxes, stressing that it is with the contribution of the citizens that the Town hall finds the means to maintain the town and carry out projects in the town.

The town hall reminds citizens who are not in good standing with the CFPB to go to the town hall to claim their slip and then go and pay their taxes without delay in order to avoid legal proceedings.
