Haiti - Reconstruction : Interrogations on the program Kay Pa'm 22/07/2011 10:27:32
Camille Chalmers, Secretary General of the Advocacy Platform for Alternative Development (Plateforme de Plaidoyer pour un Développement Alternatif PAPDA) said on Wednesday, following the launch of the project Kay Pa'm on Tuesday that as designed by the Haitian government the project has serious flaws. Mr. Chalmers indicates that this project does not seem integrate the issues of the rationalization of the space and of the development of the territory "There is no proposal on the distribution of the different administrative areas, commercial and residential..." The economist also wondered what was planned for the slum residents and small traders because the project aims primarily the public servants and the private sector employees responding to the eligibility conditions (stable employment for at least three (3) years, rofessional income regular and sufficient etc...) "It is a relief for the people, imagine how many police officers who maintain security in the country, are living under tents... Today they have an opportunity to become owner. Imagine how many people who work at the state level, public service, sleep under tents... Today, they have a door that is open to them..." had declared the President Martelly at the launch of the project.
