Haiti - Culture : 5th edition of Haïti en Folie

"Haiti en Folie is today the largest multidisciplinary festival, outside of Haiti, totally dedicated to Haitian culture. This important event, which attracts thousands of visitors and tourists every year, is fully supported by the public and the private sector. What a joy to welcome once again, and on general demand, the Haitian version of the legendary play of Eve Ensler, "Pawòl Chouchoun" 80% French and 20% Creole - which will be played by five actresses from Haiti under the direction of Florence Jean-Louis Dupuis.

Friday, July 22, 2011 at Parc Lafontaine (Théâtre de Verdure) in Montreal, BIC (Haiti) + Wesli, the best of the Haitian succession through a group from Haiti and two artists from Montreal that have the rhythm in the skin. The two groups are going to rap, hip-hop and reggae with a pure taste of Haiti. Free entrance.

At 9:00 p.m. at the Parc Lafontaine in Montreal Sortie 67, a film of Jephté Bastien will be screened. A life of crime seemed inevitable for Jecko. Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the Centre Leonardo Da Vinci (8350 Lacordaire, Montreal) two performances at 6pm and 8:30pm of "Pawòl Chouchoun" (Haitian version) this piece gives a voice to the fantasies and to the deepest fears of women. The author, Eve Ensler celebrates the female sexuality in all its complexity and mystery. A fun piece, full of compassion and wisdom, this version gives the scene to five actresses of Haiti [Cynthia Jean Louis, Fabienne Colimon, Ange-Belie Andou, Huguette Saint-Fleur and Florence Jean-Louis Dupuy].
