Haiti - Justice : Liberation of Wolf «Duralph» François

The judicial authorities of Petit-Goave, have released yesterday to 3pm, the reporter Wolf "Duralph" François, who had been detained since June 22, 2011 for reasons of defamation, disturbing public order and destruction of public property according to the charges brought against him by Me Alix Civil, Government Commissioner to the Court of First Instance of the city of Petit-Goâve (South) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-3272-haiti-justice-two-petit-goave-radio-journalists-arbitrarily-detained.html

The journalistwell before his release, had been forced to make a statement to the press in which he had to dissociate from Joseph Guyler C. Delva, the Secretary General of SOS Journalists who had vigorously defended him, and apologize to the authorities in exchange of his freedom... He made, not without difficulties, the choice that seemed the most advantageous for him...

Shortly before being released, Wolf "Duralph" François had declared "In regard to my health, I must say that the conditions were very unfavorable for me, especially since I am a man who did not enjoy robust health before, I had already hurt kidneys. The poor conditions of detention have exacerbated my situation and in addition I caught a pneumonia in prison. I must admit that at the time I speak you, I feel very bad... If the court decides to release me, I should immediately go to hospital to receive the necessary care... I was beaten in my cell by prisoners. Morally my state of mind is looking good, but physically, I'm not well... I do not know the evil I have done... I did nothing wrong... I am neither guilty nor responsible for the acts alleged against me, justice must act in my favor."
