Spirit Airlines : Soon a daily Miami / Port-au-Prince connection

Spirit Airlines in Florida will expand with service to Miami International Airport (MIA), which will complement Spirit's existing service to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). From October 6, 2021 subject to Government approval, Spirit Airlines will offer, among other things, a daily connection with Port-au-Prince (PAP).

Covid : Exorbitant rise in the price of medical oxygen and tests

Referendum : formal denial

An OAS Mission in Haiti

Invited by the Haitian Government, a Good Office Mission from the Organization of American States arrived in Haiti where it will meet for 3 days (June 8 to 10) the various stakeholders including the government, the opposition and civil society in with a view to facilitating a dialogue that would lead to free and fair elections. The Mission is made up of the permanent representatives to the OAS of Canada, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and the United States, with the support of the OAS General Secretariat and the Special Representative of the Secretary General of the OAS in Haiti.

Referendum : The ballots have arrived

The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) confirmed the arrival of a cargo plane Tuesday afternoon, June 8, carrying sensitive materials for 9 departments, except the West. "The ballots for the referendum arrived in Haiti as planned. This is the first batch of equipment," said Mathias Pierre, the Minister Delegate in charge of Electoral Questions. In addition, he informs that the scientific unit of the Government and the health authorities are working to develop a contingency plan to allow the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) to establish a new calendar of referendum and electoral activities. While awaiting this contingency plan, the Government will continue to provide the CEP with the means necessary for the holding of the referendum and free, transparent, honest and inclusive elections.
