After the President Joseph Michel Martelly and outgoing Prime Minister, Jean-Max Bellerive, the Special Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations in Haiti and head of the Minustah, Mariano Fernández Amunátegui, met yesterday Thursday 7, Rodolphe Joazile, the President the Senate.

Mr. Fernandez has described his visit to Parliament of "important" and "positive." The Special Representative of Secretary-General took the opportunity to reiterate the commitment of the Minustah alongside the authorities of the country and recalled the mandate of the Mission which is "to work with Haitian institutions for the establishment of a stronger democracy."

The President of the Senate, referring to the absence of government, has estimated that a "governability pact" was needed so that "the country move forward" and that the President Martelly can govern. The Senator, who believes that the Minustah should not remain "indefinitely" in Haiti, wishes a "gradual withdrawal" and "scheduled" of the mission, because, he says, "there is still no stability" he also believes necessary "that a reform of the political institutions and security forces" began.

Referring to the "complicated situation" reflected by the expectation of formation of a government, the Senator Rudolph Joazile has ensured that the "Parliament, privileged place, grouping all the sensitivities, can play a role "in the sense of a positive outcome. He fears that the current deadlock, giving rise to a crisis, and proposes that "all political forces come together and make reciprocal commitments so that peace and stability return."
