Haiti - FLASH : Truck against bus, at least 10 dead and 30 injured
Early Monday morning, March 29, on the national road #2, a bus operating the Port-au-Prince/Jérémie route was the victim of a violent head-on collision with a truck also carrying passengers coming in the opposite direction. The accident occurred in the Coq Chanté locality (1st communal section of Petit-Goâve, West Dept.)
According to the Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services for Accidents (STOP-Accidents) this terrible accident would have killed at least 10 people (including the 2 drivers) and made around thirty injured, several seriously (partial assessment).
The injured were rushed to Notre-Dame Hospital in Petit-Goâve. Due to the severity of the injuries, one of the injured died while being transported by ambulance, and at least one died in hospital.
