Haiti - DR : The Dominican army and the PNH talk about border security

On Monday March 8, 2021, the Dominican Minister of Defense, Carlos Luciano Díaz Morfa, met a delegation of officers from the Haitian National Police (PNH), led by its Director General a.i. Léon Charles.

"The objective of this meeting was to achieve effective cooperation between military and police institutions, and to coordinate appropriate measures to combat irregular migration, human trafficking, the flow of arms, the trafficking of drug-related cross-border crimes and other illicit acts..." Minister Morfa explained.

Other subjects were discussed, in particular the bilateral agenda assumed by Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

Alongside the Director General of the PNH, the Haitian delegation was made up of Frantz Jean François Inspector General of the PNH, Frédéric Lecompte Director of the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ), Manite Jean Charles, Director of the Intelligence Center and operations and Carl Henri Boucher, Director of the Information Directorate.

Alongside Minister Díaz Morfa, the Dominican delegation was made up of the Commander General of the Dominican Army (ERD), Luis Ernesto Florian Pérez; the Director General of the National Police, Edward Sánchez González; the Head of the Criminal Intelligence Directorate (DICRIM), Amauri Van Troi Tejada Cruz, and the Director of Intelligence of the Joint Staff of the Ministry of Defense, Jorge Iván Camino Pérez.
