Friday, February 19, as part of the 46th Alpine World Ski Championships in Cortina d'Ampezzo (Italy), Haiti participated in the men's giant slalom event.

The young Haitian skier Richardson Viano (18 years old) alias "Richi" knew how to wear the colors of Haiti brilliantly by ranking 35th in the world, a victory that will remain forever etched in our memories, under the proud gaze of Hans Larsen, President of the Haitian Olympic Committee present in Cortinaa for this competition.

This historic performance for Haiti is due to the perseverance of the President of the Haitian Ski Federation, Jean-Pierre Roy alias "Rata Piquette" who for 10 years has been working to develop Haitian skiing, but also to Richardson's training team, Orsatus and Grégory his technical coach, without whom nothing would have been possible.
