Haiti - FLASH : The PNH on maximum alert throughout the national territory

Faced with calls for a popular uprising for civil disobedience and the many demonstrations announced by the radical opposition Léon Charles, the Director General of the PNH, ordered that all police staff be placed, "from January 15 to February 15, 2021, in maximum state of alert throughout the territory of the Republic" and ordered "the cancellation of all holidays so that sufficient staff are permanently available in all police structures."

In addition, the PNH "[...] takes note of the serial demonstrations announced by certain political leaders of the country and emphasizes for the attention of the public in general and the demonstrators in particular, that the boulevard Toussaint Louverture, leading to the airport is a international route and that by virtue of the related conventions, no demonstration will be allowed."

Let's note that unless there is a change of itinerary, the march of the PNH union scheduled for Sunday, January 17 to demand better working conditions, which will begin at the crossroads of the airport through Boulevard Toussaint Louverture, will be in violation direct with the prohibition of the Commander-in-Chief of the PNH.
