Haiti - TNH : Sabotage of the antenna of the country's first digital TV channel

In a statement, the General Directorate of National Television of Haiti (TNH) informs that its antenna site in Boutilliers was the object of acts of sabotage on the night of December 16 to 17, 2020 where unidentified individuals "Cut major cables supplying in particular one of its antennas, making it impossible to retransmit channel 10 from the station. "

"This attack is all the more incomprehensible since it was perpetrated just a few weeks after the restart of this channel which had not been functional for several months and whose relaunch required considerable expenditure on the part of the Haitian State [...]

While deploring this act which is likely to paralyze the operation of the country's first digital channel as a prelude to the celebration of the 41st anniversary of TNH, on December 23, the General Directorate of Television Nationale d'Haiti relies on the diligence of the judicial and police authorities to track down and punish the perpetrators of this sabotage.

In the meantime, every effort will be made to allow viewers to receive the public service channel signals through channel 10 as quickly as possible."
