Friday, November 27, Richardson Dumel, Communication Director of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), informed in a note that since its installation in September 2020 the CEP has carried out various activities, in accordance with the presidential decree of September 18, 2020. These activities are part of the setting in motion of the electoral machine in the perspective of the next elections.

Shortly after its installation, the Council carried out an administrative evaluation of the institution, made an inventory of materials and visited annexes of the electoral institution located in the metropolitan area. This same work will extend to deconcentrated structures (departmental electoral offices (BED) and communal (BEC).

The evaluation of the structures will lead to the planning and implementation of competitions aimed at supplementing the staff and making them operational.

In addition, a proposal for an electoral calendar as well as a draft electoral decree are being prepared with a view to the convening of the Electoral Assembly and the adoption of a normative framework before regulate the organization of the next elections, which are essential for the renewal of political personnel.

The Provisional Electoral Council reaffirms its determination to accomplish its mission independently, in a credible, honest and transparent manner
