Haiti - Culture : Launch of a network of artistic diffusion at the national level
At the initiative of Caracoli, a first art tour will take place between June 26 and July 3, that will integrate several institutions dedicated to culture: it will be the foundation stone for the establishment of a network of artistic diffusion at the national level.

After the earthquake of January 2010, the first actions in direction of the artistic sector have been necessarily related to the emergency : direct support to artists, replacement of lost equipment, operations of international solidarity, etc...

Within this framework the cultural center of Brabant Wallon, Belgium, with the help of WBI (Wallonia-Brussels International), has been particularly dynamic, it supported in various and repeated manners some of the artists who were selected as part of the event EWA Ayiti, originally scheduled for September 2010. After one year, the existence of the EWA funds, managed by the FOKAL, allows to deploy new initiatives in direction of the cultural sector.

Caracoli, beneficiary of the fund has chosen to work for the establishment of a network of artistic diffusion across the country. This project is comes from a double observation : one hand, the cultural offer in Haiti is highly centralized in the city of Port-au-Prince, where the lack of adequate space has been accentuated by the earthquake ; on the other hand, some institutions are already working in different departments of the country, often in isolation. The project consists, initially, to establish a kind of cultural mapping of the entire national territory, to redistribute in the medium or long term, a part of the artistic offer, by pooling the resources of the various operators and by soliciting joint aids.

For this first tour, thanks to the EWA funds, many institutions welcome the troubadours Ti-Coca & Wanga-Nègès :

Centre Socio-culturel Rasin Lespwa (RALE)
Darbonne/Léogane (Sunday June 26 -- 4pm)
Centre Culturel Brésil-Haïti Celso Ortega Terra, Pétion-ville (Friday July 1st -- 4pm)
Centre d'initiative communale de Kenskoff (Saturday July 2 -- 4pm)
École de musique de Sainte-Trinité (Chapelle de Quisqueya to Delmas 75 - Sunday July 3 -- 4pm)

This first tour will facilitate the meeting of the different partners and will be a first test on the ground. The second tour should take place in September 2011.
