Haiti - Politic : Ratification by the Lower House ? Uncertainty remains...

The Chamber of Deputies should, in principle, to decide in Assembly, today, Monday, June 20, on the ratification of Prime Minister-designate, Daniel Gérard Rouzier. The commission has submitted its report without recommendation, limiting it to a confirmation of compliance of documents examined. The Lower House has therefore the freedom to vote in favor or not, of the Prime Minister-designate. However, although scheduled for today we must not be surprised if it takes a few extra days, given the bargaining attempts of last minute and divisions within the parliamentarians...

The Chamber of Deputies, to the approach of the vote of ratification, suggests dissenting voices, some evoke unacceptable conflicts of interest of Prime Minister-designate, others try to make ultimate pressure and threats "if the negotiations between Prime Minister-designate and the political forces represented to the parliament are not successful, the Assembly could not vote for the report" stated a parliamentarian who requested anonymity...

Recall that the President Martelly, until today has refused to open his government to the political forces, while some parties wished to be present in the next government including INITE. In the extension of this position, no party represented in Parliament, has members in the "shadow cabinet" of Mr. Rouzier according to a provisional list, unofficial, circulating in some circles.

The Prime Minister-designate Daniel Gérard Rouzier has taken the initiative to meet this Sunday afternoon, several deputies and leaders of parliamentary blocs of the lower house to measure the tendency of Deputies which must to react on his nomination and perhaps, to try to convince some opponents to return to reason...

Let us wish that a semblance of political maturity will allow to obtain the required majority and that for once, the parliamentarians will vote in favor of the interests of the people.
