Haiti - Technology : Towards the installation of more than 300 solar-powered water pumping systems

As part of the relaunch of "Fridays of the Environment", Engineer Dwinel Bélizaire in charge at the Ministry of the Environment for solar-powered water pumping systems, in his speech, announced that the Ministry was on the point of installing 308 solar-powered pumping systems across the country.

Among this number, he specified that 17 systems are already installed at the level of four departments : North, North-East, Artibonite and West, donations from Taiwan (Republic of China) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-31613-haiti-technology-president-moise-inaugurates-7-solar-powered-water-pumping-systems.html and India https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-31553-haiti-great-south-launch-of-the-project-of-8-solar-powered-water-pumping-systems.html with the financial support of the United Nations Program for Development (UNDP).

Bélizaire concluded "This project to install these pumping systems is in line with the vision of the Head of State who has made a commitment to make water available and accessible to the entire population" without one know in what timeframe this ambitious project falls, nor the cost and origin of the funding.

Let us add that these solar energy-based water pumping systems, in addition to making water accessible to the population and to agriculture, also contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and to the protection of the environment.
