Triplets delivered "post-mortem"

On Wednesday October 7, Élmina Libérus, 32, lost her life at the Justinien University Hospital in Cap-Haitien during her childbirth while she was to give birth to triplets (two girls and a boy). However, the medical staff at the hospital managed to deliver the 3 healthy infants "Post-Mortem". The children's father, unknown to the family of the deceased, was not present. Note that Elmina Libérus already had 2 children whose fathers are ignored by the family. The triplets therefore bring to 5 the number of children whose family future remains uncertain...

At least 2 state vehicles burned down

On Wednesday, the third day of violent student demonstrations, at least 2 vehicles registered as State Service belonging to the Ministry of Public Works and Electricity of Haiti (EDH) were set on fire on rue Saint-Honoré and in Lalue. The General Directorate of EDH deplores the destruction of one of its vehicles and recalls that these vehicles are intended for the service of the population and deserve to be protected by all.

PetroCaribe : The PM in the Senate

On Tuesday Prime Minister Joseph Jouthe went to the Senate to receive the last part of the audit report of the Superior Court of Accounts and Administrative Litigation (CSC/CA) on spending related to the PetroCaribe funds.

The Dominican Senate calls for the reopening of the border with Haiti

On Wednesday October 7, the Dominican Senators voted overwhelmingly in favor of a [non-binding] resolution presented by Senator David Sosa, (from the Province of Dajabón) asking the Executive Power to reopen the Dominican land border with Haiti, closed since March 17, 2020.

The Court of Appeal in its new premises

On Wednesday, the Port-au-Prince Court of Appeal finally moved to its new premises in Pacot. It should be remembered that the Court had been dysfunctional for some time because of the climate of insecurity that prevailed in the bicentenaire zone.
