Haiti - Reconstruction : A roundabout in place of the Cemetery

Clarck Eric Louis, the Deputy Mayor of Petion Ville informs that there will be no bus station on the site of the old cemetery of Petion Ville, which is now a vacant lot.

"...the consultants we hired to do the study told us that space is not sufficient so that we can build a bus station. We have transformed the project into a project of roundabout, which will aim to manage the flow of traffic of Delmas and of the street of Frère, with well delimited parking zones [...] the firm who is engaged to work on the project will take into account the recommendations that citizens had done, in ten, fifteen days it is supposed to give us the document of the study, so that we can make the tender and start the project..." declared yesterday the Deputy Mayor of Petion Ville.

May 19, at the inauguration of the market La Coupe in Petion Ville this project was still valid, Claire Lydie Parent, Mayor of the City explained "the cemetery began to be cleared, as I told you we will take a bus station, unfortunately we do not have the funding to make a big bus station for all the stations of Petion Ville, but we'll do it for the stations of Frères, Delmas, Peguy Ville..."

So, not enough space or not enough money ?
