Haiti - Reconstruction : Summit meeting Bill Clinton - Michel Martelly (UPDATE 10h56am)

Former President Bill Clinton Co-President of the Interim Haiti Recovery Commission (IHRC) is expected this Wednesday in Port-au-Prince. According to the press note of the communications office of the IHRC, Bill Clinton will participate with the President Martelly, at the break of the first stone of the first units of housing of the social housing project "400 pou 100" (400%) [400 houses will be built in 100 days] to Zoranger in the commune of Croix des Bouquets.

Former U.S. President will then meet with the President Martelly and Daniel Gérard Rouzier, Prime Minister-designate. This is the first official meeting between Bill Clinton and the President Martelly. During his visit, Bill Clinton will also meet with Jean-Max Bellerive, former co-president of IHRC, always advisor within this Commission, pending the appointment of its replacement...

We hope that this Summit meeting will give new impetus to the IHRC as decried for its slowness and lack of results after 15 months of existence, by several sectors and the population in general, often poorly informed about the limited role of this Commission considered as responsible [wrongly] of all delays in the reconstruction of Haiti.
