Haiti - Internet : A Haitian elected to the board of a regional ICANN entity

On August 17, Sergio Salinas Porto, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Latin American and Caribbean Islands Regional At-Large Organization, (LACRALO) released the results of the election of a new member to the LACRALO board.

Obed Sindy, President of the Internet Society (ISOC - Haiti) was elected with 74.31% of the vote. He will take office in October 2020.

For Max Larson Henry, President of the Association for the Development of Information and Communication Technology of Haiti (AHTIC), this is a great accomplishment not only for him but especially for the local community of Haiti. Internet in Haiti.

Recall that LACRALO, a regional entity of the Society for the allocation of domain names and numbers [IP address] on the Internet (ICANN) of 59 organizations and 22 countries as well as 11 observers which includes the ALS (At-Large Structure) of Latin America and the Caribbean, accredited by the ALAC (At-Large Advisory Committee).
