ULCC Note :

"The General Directorate of the Unit against Corruption (UlCC) vehemently condemns the burning of two vehicles belonging to the Institution by a group of demonstrators claiming to be political opposition during the hearing by former Senator Youri Latortue, this August 13, 2020. It also deplores the serious threats and insulting remarks made against employees.

The General Directorate protests against such antisocial behavior and believes that these misdeeds cannot be the work of citizens who share the values of a democratic society and the rule of law.

It assures the population that it will continue to carry out its investigative work without constraint in accordance with the law and to exercise with rigor and determination its role of police of the public administration, ignoring any attempt at intimidation.

While inviting the Prosecutor's Office of Port-au-Prince to put public action in motion against the authors, co-perpetrators and accomplices of these acts, the ULCC remains unshakeable in its crucial mission of fighting corruption with a view to the emergence of a more just society."
