Haiti - Politic : Ratification process, exasperatingly slow...

Since last Wednesday, the record of ratification of the Prime Minister-designate, Daniel Gérard Rouzier is considered complete, as confirmed by, Saurel Jacinthe, the President of the Chamber of Deputies "In all, on the 21 documents, he gave us 18 documents [...] For the three we made considerations, and we believe that in terms of common sense, he is normal to say that the record is complete, complete with a passport that he must send us" [passport presented last Thursday by Mr. Rouzier].

According to Senator Jean-Baptiste Bien-Aimé, the Senate Committee of ratification, will proceed next Tuesday [!] to investigations with the Ministry of Justice and the Immigration Service to check the passports of the Prime Minister-designate and to ensure that the latter is of Haitian nationality... Nearly a week for a simple procedure, more than one can be exasperate by this situation... It is true that Saurel Jacinthe, said that no deadline was set in this verification process "the Commission will take the necessary time to give us a report. When the report will be completed, we will kept the press informed, so that the Nation will know, according to the documents, if we agree or not."

Let us hope that the authorities requested by the Committees, for the verifications of documents of Mr. Rouzier, will not add to these slownesses, some administrative delays unacceptable and that the parliamentarians will remember [beyond their statements] that this is a step strictly technical and not political...
